The
Best Western Baiyoke Sky hotel -Thailand's tallest hotel, rising 94
storeys above the Bangkok skyline, strategically located in the heart
of downtown.
The Best Western Baiyoke Sky building is 309 metres
tall or about the height of 182 people standing one of the top of
the other. (Total 94th floor). There are all together
2,060 steps from the bottom to the top. It takes over one hour to
reach the top. There are 1,740 window panes in the building. About
the same number of window panes can be used for over 200 townhouses.
The pilings are 65 metres deep underground, about the height
of a 22 storey building. The area inside the building is 179,400
square metres, or about 30 football fields.
At time of press, July 2000, there are 255 rooms
available from 22nd - 38th floor. The remainder should open over
the next 2 years.
