FISHING
Big Game Fishing is big in Thailand, this exciting sea sport
with warm weather and fine fishing just a short distance offshore.
The Gulf of Thailand, in contrast to the Andaman
Sea, is less saline, generally warmer arid shallower.
Only a few hours away on an easy cruise, you can find black
marlins, sharks, jacks, barracudas, sailfish and other monsters
we all like to catch.
During the cool season from November to January, sailfish can
be spotted in Pattaya and the Bang
Saray region, as well as in Chumphon
and in the waters around Ko Samui.
On the Andaman Sea coastline are Racha
Yai Island near Phuket and
the Similan Island, northwest of
Phuket. Sailfish season runs from mid-May to November. The main
gamefishing centre is Chalong Beach, on the east coast of Phuket.
But remember to check the weather before setting out on any
fishing trips During the monsoon period, storms can be quite
severe.
